CyberSec First Responder (CFR)
CyberSec First Responder certification confirms you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to deal with a changing threat landscape and will be able to assess risk and vulnerabilities, acquire data, perform analysis, continuously communicate, determine scope, recommend remediation actions, and accurately report results.
This certification meets all requirements for personnel requiring DoD directive 8140 / 8570.01-M position certification baselines:
- CSSP Analyst
- CSSP Infrastructure Support
- CSSP Incident Responder
- CSSP Auditor
Best candidates for CFR have 2 to 5 years of experience working in a computing environment as part of a CERT/CSIRT/SOC who protect critical information systems before, during, and after an incident.

CyberSec First Responder Course
During this course you will learn to assess and respond to security threats and operate a system and network security analysis platform. This training is also designed to assist students in preparing for the CFR certification examination. This hands-on course that's directed and supported by an online instructor provides a comprehensive methodology for individuals responsible for defending the cybersecurity of their organization with methods and tactics that align with NIST 800-61r2 (Computer Security Incident Handling Guide), US-CERT's National Cyber Incident Response Plan (NCIRP), and Presidential Policy Directive (PPD)-41 on Cyber Incident Coordination, NIST 800.171r2 (Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations).
