Microsoft Certification: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
The Power Platform Functional Consultant must have broad applied knowledge of the Power Platform, including practical understanding of capabilities, boundaries, and constraints. Candidates for this certification should have experience using Power Platform maker tools to create solutions that use Power Platform and Microsoft 365 as well as proficiency in data modeling, user experience design, requirements analysis, and process analysis.

Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associates design, develop, secure, and troubleshoot Power Platform solutions. They implement components of the solution that include application enhancements, custom user experience, system integrations, data conversions, custom process automation, and custom visualizations.
Candidates for this certification must have strong applied knowledge of Power Platform services, an in-depth understanding of capabilities, boundaries, and constraints and a basic understanding of DevOps practices for Power Platform. Their development experience for this role should include Power Platform services, JavaScript, JSON, TypeScript, C#, HTML, .NET, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, RESTful web services, ASP.NET, and Power BI.

Microsoft Certification: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
Solution Architects for Microsoft Power Platform lead successful implementations and focus on how solutions address the broader business and technical needs of organizations. They have functional and technical knowledge of Power Platform, Dynamics 365 customer engagement apps related to Microsoft cloud solutions and third-party technologies.
For this top-level certification, Microsoft recommends candidates have a minimum of 1 to 3 years as a Power Platform solution architect or 7 to 10 years as a senior consultant or developer, along with deep knowledge of Power Platform architecture.
Required Prerequisite (complete 1)
For this expert-level credential you must already have one (1) of the following Associate certifications:

Maintaining Microsoft Role-based & Specialty Certifications
Microsoft role-based and specialty certifications (exception: Fundamentals, as that certification level does not expire) need to be renewed annually by passing Microsoft's free online assessments. As soon as you are eligible to renew (up to six months before your certification expires) Microsoft will alert you and provide assessment information. If you allow your certification to expire, you will need to earn the certification again by passing the required exam(s).
