ONLC Opens Largest Philadelphia Training Facility: New 14-Classroom Center City Site
ONLC
to Open Largest Philadelphia, PA Training Center
New
Fourteen-Classroom Facility in Center City
for ONLC Training Centers
PHILADELPHIA,
PENNSYLVANIA — October 25, 2006 - ONLC Training Centers announced that
it is going to relocate and expand its center city Philadelphia location. On January
1, 2007, the company will be operating from its new site on the 15th floor of
1801 Market Street after moving from the 5th floor within that same building.
The new site will have a total of 14 classrooms and will be the largest training facility in Philadelphia for authorized public training for Microsoft, Citrix, Novell, CWSP Wireless and other software vendors.
"We've had a steadily growing presence in Philadelphia since we opened our first location there in 1989," according to Bonnie Maness, East Region Sales Manager for ONLC Training Centers. "I was there for that opening and have watched our market share expand over the years. Today, we have the largest authorized training facility in the City," she continued.
To
outfit the new classrooms, ONLC is switching to Intel's dual-core CPU chip set
in the student computers. "Many of our classes are running on virtual machine
technology. These new CPU chips have the capacity for hardware-driven virtualization.
The bottom-line from a student's perspective is that these machines will be significantly
faster than previous Intel CPU chips," according to Bruce Balogh, the company's
facility specialist responsible for hardware selection.
The
new center city location will continue to host public classes for authorized training
for software vendors such as Microsoft, Citrix,
Novell, and CWNP wireless
training.
The largest classroom in this facility will accommodate 24 students
and can be used for product demonstrations as well as private training events
for corporate clients.
The Training You Want,
Where
You Want It
"Our Center City expansion will make it easier for us
to deliver on our promise to provide 'the training you want, where you want it',"
stated Jim Palic, ONLC Training Centers president. "In the past few months,
we've had to turn people away because our Philadelphia site was running at capacity,"
he continued. Other ONLC Training locations in Pennsylvania include Wayne, Willow
Grove, and Pittsburgh (in cooperation with a training partner).
Several
classrooms were designed to hold 2 to 4 students for Remote
Classroom Instruction (RCI) events. RCI is the company's technology for combining
enrollments from multiple locations. This allows them to cancel fewer classes
and deliver training to locations that wouldn't normally have enough enrollments
to run with an instructor present. With RCI students can get local hands-on instructor-led
training without having to incur significant travel costs.
